Each month the skin cells make their way through the many layers of the epidermis to the surface of our face. These cells begin healthy and plump but as they near the surface, they shrivel and flatten out. Because of this, many layers of dead skin cells can build up causing the skin to look dull and aged. A microdermabrasion session can help by exfoliating those dead layers of skin.
What is Microdermabrasion?
The truest definition is a polishing of the skin. The procedure consists of an air pulsating wand with tiny aluminum oxide crystals in the air stream passing over the skin removing and vacuuming the dead skin cells. It could almost resemble a sandblasting of dead skin cells off the surface of the skin.
What does it do?
Microdermabrasion can do many things for your skin including exfoliate dead skin cells, flatten scars, improve hyperpigmentation, reduce fine dynamic wrinkles, and help reduce photo damage from the sun. It rejuvenates your skin and stimulates the collagen and elastin helping to create a tighter and plumper skin appearance. Another added benefit with Microdermabrasions is the fact that your skin care products will actually work better, not having to fight through layers of dead skin cells. Many clients have said they love how much better their make-up looks and they feel their skin has a nice glow after the procedure.
How many do I need?
You can get just one, but a series of 6 treatments, 10 days apart has proven to offer the best results for concerns of fine lines, wrinkles, brown spots, acne or scarring. You can have a 6 treatment series, two-times per year.
